Buying A Stroller, Why Is This So Difficult?

About two months before our bundle of joy arrived my wife and I were busy looking for baby stuff. This 'Stuff' ranged from furniture, playpens, high chairs, car seats, toys and a stroller. The most complicated one to make a decision on was the stroller simply because there are so many bloody options.

There are strollers that are designed for travel, some for twins, some for infants and some do almost everything in the list. Of course the all encompassing units are more expensive, the old saying is pay me now or pay me later? We decided to purchase a unit that had everything and when I say everything I mean it.

This new stroller had a car seat attachment as well, designed for infants only. The great part was you can transfer the child from the car directly to the stroller without unbuckling them from the car seat itself. It works by placing a base unit that stays within your car. So with your baby attached to the car seat all you do is clip them into the base inside of the car. When you arrive at say the grocery store you unclip the car seat from the base and then clip the car seat to the stroller. Brilliant!

When you child is over 20 pounds you do need to upgrade to a larger seat the good news is the stroller is now designed to your larger child. Instead of attaching the car seat to the stroller you simply use the stroller as a traditional seat and face the child forward. If your child falls asleep the back of the seat folds flat.

As for travel the seat easily folds with the flick of one button, there are strollers called umbrella strollers that are incredibly light and only designed for toddlers above 20 pounds that are the best for travel. As our daughter grows we will contemplate getting one of these for the trips around the world we hope to be taking!

There really are a ton of decisions that need to be made when having a new baby. Hopefully you are as lucky as we are and have lots of relatives so you can get some hand me downs. There are lots of great products out there and don't be afraid to buy used. There are plenty of auction sites and classified sites online to find a great deal on a stroller or any other baby product that you require.
